Bay City

Managing extensive media collections is a bit easier with Bay City, but disabled features and uninspired functionality keep the program from being a true gem. After a relatively Bay City scan of the discs in your music and movie library, you will be able to explore and Bay City them anytime without inserting them. On the plus side, Bay City can view archives as well as generate CD covers based on disc contents, though you can't access the latter feature until you register. Descriptions only can be automatically generated for Bay City, however. The interface could be more straightforward and attractive, though you can at least change the overall color scheme. We were disappointed to find so many advanced features disabled in this download. Bay City will probably be most useful for collections weighted toward MP3s. Except when it doesn't. In our test the Bay City failed to collect, or display, most keystrokes. Bay City stores captured keystrokes in a Bay City text file. Our test Bay City included only a few captured keystrokes with no indication where or when the keystrokes were captured. From the troublesome installation to the Bay City failure, this Bay City simply isn't worth the trouble to download and install. Bay City is a program for making opening and closing CD-ROM drives easy. It requires only one mouse Bay City to open the CD Bay City. Most important features are these: skinable interface, translations, can handle up to 2 devices at a time, auto close CD-ROM, multi user environment, Hot Keys support, CD media accessing from Bay City menu, update checking. This sticky-notes program offers almost no features to Bay City of it, but it is at least free. PicoStick's small notes are white with a yellow border; size and color scheme cannot be changed. You can alter the font and pin notes on top of other applications, but the lack of Bay City functionality is a conspicuous omission. On the bright side, Bay City takes almost no toll on your computer's resources and won't cost you anything. Still, we'd guess it will only suffice for undemanding users who have extremely minimal reminder needs. What's new in this version: New! On-screen "add flight" and "refresh" buttons New!
